The ACReSAL Project Impact Team’s visit to Gombe included Sule James, Jane Ozuruoke, Eniola Adedayo, Riskiya Ahmad, and George Imama, the FPMU photographer. Joining them were Charles Alfa and Abdullahi from NTA, as well as Nana Hauwa Okafor and Michael Igwe from the Communications Firm.
The team’s initial stop was the Dakinkowa Reservoir, situated 37 km from the Gombe state metropolis. They evaluated the effectiveness of the Gombe ACReSAL’s efforts in resolving a 25-year conflict between humans and hippos.
The next site was the 21 km stretch at FCE(T) affected by gully erosion, where interventions have safeguarded over 8000 households from immediate risk, with 1.4 million individuals set to benefit.
Additionally, the team reviewed the state-wide afforestation initiatives by Gombe state ACReSAL, contributing to climate action efforts.
