Lawmakers Reiterate Support For Gombe ACReSAL

The Gombe State House of Assembly Chairman of the Committee on Water Resources and Environment State, Manaja Zambuk has said that the legislative arm would give the needed support toward the successful implementation of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes – ACReSAL Project.

The lawmaker made this known on the heels of a familiarization visit to the office of the Gombe State ACReSAL.
He expressed happiness with the objectives of the project which seek to increase the adaptation of sustainable landscape management practices in targeted sub-catchments.

He commended the Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for giving the project the needed support especially payment of counterpart contribution.

Mr. Manaja also praised the ACReSAL for recording a huge success in terms of community sensitization on climate action, woodlot plantations, and the establishment of plant nurseries across the state.

Earlier, the Gombe State ACReSAL Project Coordinator, Amb. Sani Adamu Jauro told the lawmakers that a robust work plan has been developed to strengthen community resilience in the face of climate change, explore sources of underground water, and address land degradation in the state.

Amb. Sani Adamu appealed to the lawmakers to support the project implementation activities which are in line with the environmental policy drive of the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
