
Gombe State ACReSAL Takes Campaign To LGAs, Emirates.
The Gombe State Agro-Climatic in Semi-Arid Landscape – ACReSAL has taken its community sensitization and stakeholder engagement to local government councils and Emirs’ palaces.
Speaking at different times in the palaces of the Bala Waja in Balanga, the Emir of Yamaltu and Deba in Yamaltu-Deba local government areas, the Gombe State ACReSAL Project Coordinator, Amb. Sani Adamu Jauro said the essence of the visit was to raise awareness amongst the community and build a sense of ownership for the sustainability of the ACReSAL investment.
While appealing to the traditional leaders to support the project implementation Amb. Sani Adamu Jauro revealed that the ACReSAL project aimed to improve the environment, agriculture, and water resources for the benefit of communities in the state.
He said the ACReSAL package includes support for extension service workers, dry season irrigation, protection of wildlife, gully erosion control, plant nurseries, and woodlot plantations across the state.
He commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his support in improving people’s lives especially those at the grassroots, adding that the ACReSAL project would not have come to the state without the commitment demonstrated by him.
In their separate responses, the Bala Waja, Alh. Muhammad Danjuma, Emir of Deba, Dr. Ahmad Usman Muhammad II, and Emir of Yamaltu, Alh. Abubakar Ali assured of cooperation for the successful project implementation in their respective domains.
They commended the state governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for enlisting Gombe state into the ACReSAL project and expressed hope to benefit from the interventions.
The highlight of the campaign was the presentation of information, education, and communication materials to the royal fathers.
