GOMBE STATE ACReSAL PLANTS 500 ASSORTED TREES AT GRA EXTENSION
Gombe State’s Agro-Climate Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) has planted 500 assorted trees along newly constructed roads in BAP4 GRA Extension, Shehu Abubakar District.
Project Coordinator Dr. Sani Jauro stated that this initiative was directed by Governor Inuwa Yahaya to act as windbreakers and support local development.
He said the previously abandoned area is receiving improvements, including schools, hospitals, and roads, thanks to ongoing infrastructure projects.
According to Dr. Sani Adamu, ACReSAL is collaborating with local communities and NGOs for the monitoring and care of the trees.
Jabir Saleh Kilawa, a resident of the area, expressed gratitude for the new road networks and assured that the community would care for the trees, requesting additional planting to enhance the area’s livability.
