GOMBE STATE ACReSAL PLANTS 360 TREES AT POLICE SECONDARY SCHOOL, KUMO.
In continuation with the restoration of degraded land and mitigation of climate change effect, the Gombe state ACReSAL has planted 360 assorted tree species consisting of Cashew, Cassia, Eucalyptus, Guava, Malena, and Mango at the newly established Police Secondary School, Kumo.
Speaking during the tree planting exercise the Gombe State ACReSAL Project Coordinator, Dr. Sani Adamu Jauro the tree planting conducted at the school was to protect the school from windstorms and strengthen climate action to reduce climate change’s effect on the environment.
He reiterated that the exercise was in line with the ACReSAL’s Project’s Development Objectives (PDO) of increasing the adaptation of sustainable landscape management practices to secure the environment from degradation, especially through massive tree planting.
While appreciating the federal and state governments for the approval and establishment of the school in the state he commended the Police Secondary School Commandant for his dedication to the establishment and running of the school and encouraged him to maintain the level of dedication towards continuous success and achieving the needed goals of the school.
The Commandant, Police Secondary School, Kumo, DSP Mohammed Galadima, in his response, commended the efforts of the project and thanked Gombe state ACReSAL Project for providing the requested support.
He thanked the project for its steadfast readiness to make the students have a ‘Green Mind’ from a young age as is practiced by His Excellency, Gov. Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
He also applauded the project for its willingness to assist in boosting the school’s orchard as done in Government Girls Mega College Doma.
