Gombe State ACReSAL Meets With Agricultural Specialists

As part of the strategic and expedient implementation of the 2023 work plan the Gombe State Acresal management Staff have today met with specialists from the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry.

Speaking while leading the discussions, the Gombe State ACReSAL Project Coordinator, Amb. Sani Adamu Jauro said the SPMU is exerting effort to ensure that all activities are executed in line with due diligence and the World Bank standard.

He reiterated the importance of Agric Extension Service Workers in disseminating information to farmers and assured that the Project will enhance their capacity to provide the local farmers with climate-smart information to help them adapt to climate change.

In his remarks, the Deputy Director of Agriculture, Adamu Usman Abubakar said the support from the ACReSAL Project came at the right time as the Ministry lacked Extension Service Workers.

Areas of intervention by the Gombe State ACReSAL to the Ministry of Agriculture include the provision of motorcycles/tricycles to extension service workers, support for agroforestry, technical assistance, dry season irrigation, drilling of tube wells, wash boreholes, water pumps, and accessories.
