Gombe State ACReSAL Inaugurates LGPMC in Kaltungo and Shongom LGAs

The Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes – ACReSAL, Gombe State has inaugurated its Local Government Project Management Committee in Kaltungo and Shongom local government areas.

Speaking at the respective headquarters of the two local government areas, the Gombe State Project Coordinator, Amb. Sani Adamu Jauro said the formation of the committees was aimed at bringing the project benefits closer to the local communities.

He said the committee would assist the project implementation unit in managing activities at the local level and ensure the participation of the local people for the maintenance and sustainability of the investment.

In their remarks, the Kaltungo LG Chair, Alh. Faruk Aliyu Umar, Shongom LG Chair, Mr. Yohanna Nahari appreciated the World Bank and the Federal Government for initiating the ACReSAL Project which according to them was created for the benefit of humanity.

The duo charged the committee members to take the assignment seriously, promising to give them every support they need to succeed.

On their part, the Mai Kaltungo, Engr. Sale Muhammadu and the Mai Tula, Alh. Abubakar Buba Atare commended the management of the ACReSAL Project for fashioning out activities that would improve the lives of the common man. They also assured to continue giving support the the actualization of the ACRESAL Project objectives.
