Gombe State ACReSAL Holds Retreat For SSC, STC, and Critical Stakeholders

As part of efforts to reinforce effective project implementation, the Gombe State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes – ACReSAL, Gombe State has commenced a 5-day retreat for members of the State Steering, Technical committees, and other critical stakeholders, in Bauchi.
During the occasion, the state commissioner of water, environment, and forest resources, Mohammed Mohammed Sa’idu said the retreat was to bring stakeholders together, assess the implementation status, and sustain the project’s performance.
He commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for giving priority attention to key sectors like the environment and agriculture that have the potential to improve and save lives.
He tasked the participants comprising Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, Members of the state House of Assembly, Heads of relevant federal MDAs, Directors, and traditional leaders to transfer and apply the knowledge gained at the retreat for the realization of the ACReSAL objectives in Gombe State.
In his remarks, the Commissioner of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperatives, Barnabas Musa Malle encouraged stakeholders in the project execution to sustain the tempo of activity implementation to complement the overwhelming performance of the state Government under Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
Also making his remarks, the Commissioner of Finance Muhammadu Magaji Gambo commended ACReSAL for the 21km FCE gully control work and support to the Gombe Goes Green – 3G Project which has succeeded in planting over 3 million trees in the past 4 years across the state.
On his part, the Speaker of Gombe State House of Assembly, Mohammed Luggerawo said the lawmakers are ready to support and give legal backing to any policy that would facilitate the smooth implementation of the ACReSAL Project in the state.
While making his welcome remarks, the Gombe State ACReSAL Project Coordinator, Sani Adamu Jauro said the retreat was to acquaint stakeholders with project development objectives, bring them up to speed with the implementation status, and strengthen the bond among them for successful implementation.
