
Gombe State ACReSAL Commences 3-Day Training for Enumerators on Socioeconomic Baseline Survey
Gombe State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project, in partnership with IS Surveying, has commenced a three-day training program for enumerators. The training aims to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to collect accurate and reliable data for the project’s implementation within the state.
The Gombe State ACReSAL Project Coordinator, Dr. Sani Adamu Jauro, in his remarks, urged the enumerators to prioritize accuracy and diligence in their data collection processes and encouraged them to get a fair understanding of the questions and acquire from the training techniques of how to ask the questions.
He highlighted the significance of the survey in understanding the socioeconomic conditions of communities within the project’s intervention sites and stressed that the quality of the data would aid in the baseline survey and directly impact the project’s outcomes going forward.
In his opening remarks, the CEO of I.S. Surveying and Geoinformatics, Ibrahim Saleh Gwani commended ACReSAL for its unwavering commitment to mitigating the effects of climate change and improving dryland management. He emphasized the importance of the socioeconomic baseline survey in providing critical data that will guide the project’s interventions and ensure its success.
The 3-day training program covers a range of topics, including data collection techniques, the use of digital tools for surveying, and ethical considerations in fieldwork. Participants will also engage in practical sessions to familiarize themselves with the survey instruments and methodologies.
The training marks a significant step forward in the implementation of the ACReSAL project, underscoring the importance of collaboration, accurate data, and community engagement in achieving sustainable development goals.
