Gombe ACReSAL Trains FCE(T) Gully Erosion Project Affected Persons

174 Persons Affected by the ongoing FCE(T) gully erosion control project are being trained by the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes – ACReSAL, Gombe State Project Management Unit on Financial Management, Safety Measures, Grievance Redress Mechanism and Gender-Based Violence.
Addressing the participants drawn from the 6 communities on the FCE(T) gully corridor, the Gombe State ACReSAL Project Coordinator, Dr. Sani Adamu Jauro said the essence of the training was to teach the participants how to prudently use their compensation money to improve their wellbeing and to stay safe while the gully control works go on.
He commended the Grievance Redress Committee and the traditional leader for playing significant roles leading to the successful execution of the Resettlement Action Plan (RAP).
In his remark during the occasion the Chairman Grievance Redress Committee, Alh. Abubakar Isah thanked the Management of Gombe State ACReSAL for organizing the training and expressed confidence that the knowledge would come in handy for the participants to judiciously use the money paid to them as compensation for observing safety measures.
Also, the Project Coordinator of JEWEL Environmental Initiative, Samaila Umar Bima cautioned the participants against wild spending and charged them to maintain peaceful coexistence.
Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) tools like Cell Phones, Log Books, Complaint Boxes, and information, Education, and Communication materials were presented to the GRC committee members.
