Gombe ACReSAL, National Gallery of Art Mark Children’s Day with Tree Planting Campaign
In celebration of Children’s Day, the Gombe State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project, in partnership with the National Gallery of Art, Gombe, organized an event under the theme “Harmony in Diversity: Art as a Unifying Force.” The initiative aimed to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards through creative expression and hands-on environmental activities.
As part of the day’s activities, schoolchildren took part in a symbolic tree-planting exercise and received educational sessions highlighting the importance of afforestation in combating climate change and promoting ecological balance.
The event underscored ACReSAL’s ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement, with the broader goal of enhancing lives through resilient, climate-smart practices.
