GOMBE ACReSAL DISTRIBUTES 2,100 SEEDLINGS TO WOMEN AND FARMERS IN KWADON
In its drive to green the environment and save lives in Gombe state the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes – ACRESAL has distributed 2,100 assorted seedlings to women and farmers in Kwadom of Yamaltu Deba LGA.
The state Project Coordinator of Gombe State ACReSAL, Ambassador Sani Adamu Jauro who led the ACReSAL team to the palace of the District Head of Kwadom and distributed the seedlings to women, farmers, among others in the community charged them to ensure they planted and nurture the trees properly.
He applauded members of the community for their tracked record in tree planting, assuring that the ACReSAL Project would set up a committee to help monitor the growth and progress of the trees that would be planted by individuals who collected the seedlings for support and special gifts.
The Natural Resources Officer of the Gombe State ACReSAL, Muhammed Musa Aliyu explained to the beneficiaries the processes of tree planting and advised them on the best type of fertilizer to use to ensure proper growth.
Speaking, the chairman of Yamaltu Deba LGA, represented by the Head of the Department of Agriculture, Samaila Umar Bima commended Gombe State ACReSAL for giving the seedlings free of charge to the Kwadom community and appreciated all stakeholders involved in the initiative.
In his remarks, the District Head of Kwadom, Muhammad Sani Abubakar appreciated ACReSAL and Governor Inuwa Yahaya for the gesture and assured them of a hundred percent support from the entire people of Kwadom for every developmental policy of the state government.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Adama Muhammed Bello and Hadiza Ali appreciated ACReSAL for the seedlings and pledged to plant them accordingly and watch them grow for the overall benefit of their households and the community at large.
