GOMBE ACRESAL COORDINATOR CREDITS GOVERNOR INUWA FOR PROJECT SUCCESS

The Gombe State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project has continued to garner attention for its sweeping impact across the state, with the Project Coordinator, Dr. Sani Adamu Jauro, attributing its success to the steadfast leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
While welcoming members of the Shamaki Development Foundation on a courtesy call in his office, Dr. Jauro Sani Jauro stated that the governor deserves credit for the wide-reaching achievements under ACReSAL. “This visit rightly belongs to His Excellency,” Jauro remarked, underscoring the enabling environment created by the state administration.
“ACReSAL has spent nearly 15 billion naira on interventions in Shamaki Ward, including controlling the 7.5 km Gombe State University gully and 21 km FCE(T) gullies, along with additional livelihood supports such as 2 greenhouses, 2 fishponds, 2 poultry farms, 450 400-liter surface tanks for water harvesting, and waste recycling plants.” He added.
He encouraged all benefiting communities, including development foundations, to take active ownership of ACReSAL investments. “Sustainability begins with local stewardship,” he said, calling on groups to safeguard the resources so future generations continue to reap their benefits.
Speaking on behalf of the visiting delegation, Musa Adamu Gombe, Chairman of the Shamaki Development Foundation, expressed strong support for the ACReSAL team and affirmed the foundation’s readiness to collaborate. “We see these interventions as human-centered, and we stand behind efforts to protect and expand them,” he stated.
Musa commended Governor Yahaya’s inclusive development strides across all 114 wards in Gombe State and pledged ongoing support for the administration’s initiatives focused on resilience, growth, and grassroots empowerment.
From landscape restoration to climate-smart agriculture and urban greening, the ACReSAL project continues to serve as a beacon of environmental reform and community transformation in Gombe.
