ACReSAL Mission: World Bank’s KIDS Team Trains Northern Officials on Cloud-Based Analytics

GOMBE—The World Bank’s Key Information Data System (KIDS) team has launched a high-impact training program in Gombe as part of the ACReSAL Hybrid Implementation Mission, with a sharp focus on cloud-based analytics for Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E).
The specialized sessions bring together M&E and Geographic Information System (GIS) officers from 19 northern states, all converging to strengthen their capacity in data-driven environmental project oversight.
In her remarks, Dr. Joy Iganaya Agene, Task Team Leader for ACReSAL at the World Bank, emphasized the importance of equipping participants with practical tools such as Google Earth Engine and the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), noting their effectiveness in enhancing monitoring efficiency.
Addressing the gathering ahead of technical presentations, Gombe State Project Coordinator, Dr. Sani Adamu Jauro, reiterated the significance of the training, describing it as a pivotal step in ACReSAL’s strategic drive to integrate advanced technology into environmental governance and sustainability efforts.
The sessions also explore how artificial intelligence can be leveraged to optimize development outcomes.
