The Gombe State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting women and improving their livelihoods through its community-driven interventions across the state.

The Project Coordinator, . , stated this when he received the executive members of the (), Gombe State Chapter, who paid a courtesy visit to the ACReSAL office.

Dr. Jauro said ACReSAL was designed to give priority to women, particularly through livelihood support initiatives aimed at improving household incomes, strengthening resilience and creating sustainable economic opportunities.

He commended NAWOJ for its contribution to creating visibility for the project and supporting the implementation of its activities, assuring the association of the project’s continued partnership and support for women journalists in the state.

He expressed confidence that the collaboration with NAWOJ and other media organizations will help in promoting public awareness, amplifying community voices, and ensuring that impactful interventions reach the people who need them most.

Responding, the Gombe State Chairperson of NAWOJ, , commended the ACReSAL Project Coordinator and his team for their commitment to community-driven development initiatives, noting that many women have benefited from the project’s interventions.

She expressed appreciation for the opportunity to partner with ACReSAL and pledged the association’s commitment to strengthening awareness creation and advocacy, particularly among rural communities, on the objectives, interventions, and achievements of the project.

Mrs. Kolo described the performance of Gombe ACReSAL as “second to none,” noting that the project’s impact has also received recognition from the Gombe State Governor, , particularly regarding the gully control intervention, which she described as one of the project’s flagship achievements.
