The Gombe State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project has donated modern waste bins to the Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH), Gombe, as part of efforts to promote proper waste management, environmental sanitation, and improved hygiene within healthcare facilities.

Speaking during the presentation at the hospital, the Gombe State ACReSAL Project Coordinator, . , said the donation was aimed at supporting the hospital in the effective management of special and general waste, while contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment.

Dr. Jauro commended the management of the Federal Teaching Hospital for its commitment to improving healthcare delivery and expressed ACReSAL’s readiness to strengthen collaboration with the hospital on sustainable waste management initiatives.

He disclosed that the ACReSAL Project is also constructing a Waste-to-Wealth facility, which is expected to contribute to improved waste management and resource recovery in Gombe State.

Responding, the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe, . , commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his support to the hospital and praised Dr. Sani Adamu Jauro for his dedication to advancing the objectives of the ACReSAL Project in the state.

The CMD highlighted gully erosion control, massive tree planting and land restoration among the notable achievements recorded under the ACReSAL Project, describing them as significant contributions to environmental sustainability and community resilience.

He also commended the ACReSAL team for their hard work, professionalism and commitment to the successful implementation of the project in Gombe State.

He stressed that the donation underscores the shared commitment of ACReSAL and the Federal Teaching Hospital to promoting environmental sustainability, public health and a cleaner Gombe State.
