The commendation was made by the Team Lead of the NEC Monitoring Team, . , Commissioner for Planning and Economic Development, Borno State, after leading members of the team on an inspection tour of selected ACReSAL project sites in Gombe.

Hon. Maina described the projects as well-conceived, professionally executed, and impactful, noting that the interventions have delivered tangible socio-economic and environmental benefits to beneficiary communities.

He explained that the visit was part of the National Economic Council’s oversight and monitoring exercise aimed at assessing the implementation, quality, and impact of ACReSAL-supported projects across participating states.

The delegation, which included Bala Musa Giyade, Olakunle Adeola, and Mustapha Philip Ahmed, visited several flagship project sites, including the gully erosion control projects at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Gombe, and Government Girls Model College, Doma.

The team also inspected the Farm Centre at Kanawa and the Kunji Irrigation Demonstration Clusters, where members were taken through the various climate-smart agricultural interventions and irrigation technologies being implemented under the project. The delegation expressed satisfaction with the quality of execution and the positive impact of the interventions on agricultural productivity, environmental restoration, and the livelihoods of local communities.

The visit reaffirmed the National Economic Council’s commitment to ensuring effective implementation of ACReSAL interventions while promoting the adoption of best practices that support environmental resilience, sustainable agriculture, and inclusive rural development across Nigeria.
