As part of the collaboration, delegations from IITA led by . and the Lake Chad Research Institute led by . visited Gombe to facilitate the development of practical strategies for implementing agriculture-related activities. The initiative is being supported by the ACReSAL national office.

During the visit, the delegations held technical discussions with ACReSAL staff, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Gombe State Agricultural Development Programme (GSADP). The sessions focused on mapping intervention locations, defining the scope of activities, assigning responsibilities, and establishing timelines for effective execution.

The institutes will provide training for lead farmers in community seed production and establish demonstration plots for crop research and soil diagnosis in the three senatorial zones of the state.

Speaking at the event, . , Project Coordinator of Gombe State ACReSAL, commended the delegations and expressed gratitude to the World Bank and the ACReSAL national office for facilitating the partnership.

He emphasized that agriculture remains a major priority of the present administration under , noting that the collaboration will significantly benefit smallholder farmers across the state.

The Lake Chad Research Institute will provide similar support to the ACReSAL Project in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states.
