Gombe ACReSAL Trains GGC Doma PAPs On Financial Management.
The Gombe State ACReSAL has trained persons affected by the Government Girls College, Doma gully control project.
Dr. Sani Adamu Jauro, Project Coordinator of ACReSAL while speaking during the one-day training focused on financial management for stakeholders involved in the GGC Doma gully control project commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for giving priority attention to environmental protection and community development.
Dr. Jauro, represented by the Communications Officer, Mr. Richard James, highlighted that the Governor’s dedication to citizens’ welfare has significantly advanced the World Bank-supported initiative.
He said the training aimed to educate 514 individuals affected by the gully project on effective utilization of their compensation.
Dr. Jauro mentioned that the Governor has instructed the replication of previous livelihood interventions from the FCE Gully site at the Doma Gully project, which includes establishment of green houses, poultry farms and fish ponds.
In her welcoming remarks, ACReSAL Social and Livelihood Officer, Ada Daniel Tadi encouraged participants to absorb and apply the knowledge gained during the training.
Resource persons, including Dr. Abdullahi Mohammed Jikan Jatum from Gombe State University, delivered presentations on financial management.
Representatives from various organizations, including the ACReSAL Focal NGO Jewel Environmental Initiative, the District Head of Bogo, Alhaji Ibrahim Baddi Galadima, and a representative from Nasarawo community, urged local communities to cooperate with contractors to ensure the project’s success.
Participants expressed satisfaction with the training, appreciating Governor Inuwa Yahaya and Dr. Jauro for their effective intervention and for providing what they regarded as the best compensation package in the state’s history.
